SR's 110 advent card

Strelets give us all 110 Turkish "xmas card" this week, so i am watching this link for activity.

http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?search=strelets+turkish

these figures have a lot of use for wars 1878 up to war 2 with some moderation.

However you know me, i will be moving with these figures the other way..... back in time to 1853-4
the Danube battle and seige of Silistra.

btw some soldiers on each side fought in both those wars.

Re: SR's 110 advent card

Dear Hank,

alas the masters are coming with a pinch of salt. It was our intention to release them in this lot that is under way to London right now, however, due to some unforeseen manufacturing problems this set and set no.020 will be released only in spring 2012.
It is with deep regret that we have to make this announcement, especially knowing how long you've been waiting for this set. Also taking this opportunity let us thank you for your invaluable contribution on research stage for this set, it's highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Strelets

These sure will be a handsome addition to the RTW range( and CW range .) with many variants(as Ottoman and non Ottoman eg Circassian) over the entire c19th thru war2 possible. It also will balance the RTW series nicley providing opposing inf , art, cav sets.

The fez can also be considered a trooper headwear option for 1877-78 giving more variants .

Von Herbert (field doctor in Turkish service ) "the Defence of Plevna" It is a wonderfully well expressed account of the seige . I hope you have read this, it is full of informational surprises. orders of marches etc/."the breakfast war" also a fascinating journal.

best of the wishes han k

Head for the guns hank

I completely agree. As for me, I was really hoping to see the Cavalry in the Fez. If not with this set then hopefully with a future set.

I too thank Hank for providing historical research. This will be a unique and welcome set.

Re: SR's 110 advent card
