Re: Roman market

Very nice, it's a shame that Strelets can't yet produce the fineness of physique that Zvezda and Italeri can produce but top marks for innovation and character. I have a plea! Please, please, please do something similar for the medieval period (I know some of the Romans can be adapted but this isn't always possible, particularly with the women - ancient women were much less clad than medieval women). A medieval market scene and a camp scene (Medieval world was brilliant but even more lounging soldiers and lots of accessories like fires, braziers, spit roasting animals, stacked weapons would be fantastic). We could also do with some nice medieval tents, like the Renedra stuff, rather than the lumpy resin stuff that we have to put up with. Strelets are definitely the most innovative company currently producing.

Re: Roman market

Looks excellent, I plan to get some once either Linear-B postal prices come down or there is sufficient new stuff there to justify the postal charges

Re: Roman market

Thanks This set is definately on my shopping list..along with more of the two transport sets...the conversion possibilities, from ancients to medieval and within the roman period are endless.

I think Graham has hit it on the head...there is definately a growing market for such civilian based sets, there appears to be a lot of interest in the wargaming community for them as "battlefield extras"

Ancient civilians can be recruited to the Dark ages/ medieval period but as said..there are certain clothing styles that really say "medieval" ..the hoods, coifs etc.

Also, medievals could be "put back in time" as complementary figures to the ancient sets...the cross over between the two themes could be very interesting and profitable ;-D

Re: Roman market etc

FWIW, I see that Linear-B (France) has the retooled Strelets Dacian sets, the first time I've seen them for sale anywhere. (I presume postage from France to UK is the same as from Germany.)

Re: Roman market /new Dacians

Paul, BB Toys, your supplier of Strelets dacians, has currently only the light infantry, both the original set and the retooled version. Price is the same. The retooled version is in the same box, but it does mention quite clearly "retooled" under the title. While the retooled figures are certainly nicer, the original version figures are also acceptable, compatible with the retooled figures. Thus, Strelets provides us with almost 250 foot dacians, in 5 boxes. Not bad.

Re: Roman market /new Dacians

A bit OT, but.... I bought the retooled heavy dacians a few weeks ago at a fair, and they're really good! Looking forward to paint them!
My box too clearly sports the "retooling" word written under the title, so it's easy to tell them from the old box.

The postal charges are not so high if you order from within the EU! Do contact us to ask for a quote. We have had several customers from the UK despite the fact that we are located in France. Shipment costs were very acceptable.
