Can anyone help me interpret the armour worn by figures F2 and G2 in the Osprey Medieval Russian Armies 1250 - 1500 as I can't see any description of how it was manurfactured and none of the Russian 1/72s out there seem to reflect the design.

later Turkish or Eastern armour narrow plates held together by rings along the vertical edges they are slightly overlapping usually a mix of mail and small plates..

I wondered if it was that but it seems to be backed onto something distinct from the mail that is being worn.
