Re: When did Johnny O'Keefe & the Dee Jays break up
It was in the mid/early 60's that the actual well known Dee Jay's went their own way from J.O'K. The problem was that the Beatle Era came in and there were less venues to play to keep the bands of the late 50's early 60's together.
Band members joined many other groups and started their own.
J.O'K used other venue bands for a while then hired full bands which he used for periods of time. The first of these were 'The Rajahs'.
