Im not exactly sure, but it was in he early to mid 70s. I think it was also with the the Australian Drifters. As far as I know he never appeared with Haley in the early years.

Thank you for your quick reply, I appreciate it. I have since found information on JOK that says he appeared with Bill Haley and the Comets at festival hall in melbourne in 1957.
