Hi all,

Is there any resale value in the sealed Sports 1600 K series engines? I am potentially looking to sell one, but have no idea if there is a market for them in amongst the clubmans circles or how to value it?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that the Free Classified Ads on this website would be a good place to advertise it.
Presumably the seals are intact and you can provide some history of the engine.

The engine is from the Mcdermott Rage, seals all still in place.

I do not know the history of the engine, but I'm sure others will do.

I would not know what sort of value to put on this engine to advertise it, do they change hands regularly within the clubmans community?

Think the car is last driven by Mike Evans and i remember he was bloody fast with it. You could ask him for the history.
Why are you selling that engine? I would race the car with that engine before thinking of another, especialy more power. Think it stil has a 3rail gearbox and BMC axle, not ideal for Proto power i think.
You could also call Paul Freeman, he's the K1600 engine builder.
I remember prices around GBP 1500 (including dry sump and ecu) few years ago but not many sold last years as they last and last in K1600 form.
But again i wouldn't sell it if i were you.
