I am trying to find the father of my 4xgreat grandfather James Tait based on the 1841 census he was born about 1786 in Channelkirk. He married Margaret Elliot at Ednam Parish of Kelso in 1807 and had three children, as far as I can find, named Andrew b 1812 Margaret b 1814 James b 1817 the children were all born at Sprouston Roxborough although later they were at Coldstream. I have the family tree from about 1786 to the present day including locating live members of the family. If anyone out there can help me locate James I would be delighted he may not of course have been born in Channelkirk but was possibley in that area.
