In Ethel Updike's book, "Tate and Allied Families of the South", several times she uses a reference to 'Judge Charles Tate (Tait)(1768-1835) Diary'. It evidently has family genealogy and also personal family information. I have been unable to find anything called a "Diary" or anything Judge Tait wrote concerning his ancestors. I would appreciate any hints, clues or specific information about this item, as I need it for proof in a patriotic organization.
