hi, in the winter it is difficult to exactly know what is the best time for rabbits because it depends on how the weather is, rabbits hardly come out on days of frost or snow. try warmer days with a stalking approach(wrap up warm and take a hot flask). hope it helps.

My advice to you is.....stay indoors, keep warm.
I'm never having all that much luck with rabbits during the winter. They are around but not for long, and they don't stray far from the warren. It your desperate for a rabbit stew, set up a hide about 20 yards away from the warren at either dusk or dawn. Or better yet, chuck a ferret down there!
