I have done hiking and camping on and off for years, gone clay pigeon shooting and i'm now very much into my air weapons.

I'm trying to find somewhere in the Coventry area where I can hunt rabbits and camp rough. I understand I need permision from a landowner generally but so far all the farmers I've asked have said no...at best. I'd be happy to just have somhere local to hunt and take the Rabbits home as I have a friend who will have them from me to cook and eat (As I will when I've found somewhere to camp to).

Difficulty is I'd really like to do all this properly and I can't find anyone to agee to what I understand would be a simple and mutually bebeficial arrangement.

This should help your chances with asking for permission- join the BASC, and tell the landowner you are a member- this tells them 2 things; you are serious about shooting, and that you have shooting insurance. Go to the basc website
