maybe I just have a different
approach about religion,...it isn't necessarily about God, that I
believe is in question here, it's about Faith, belief...
I believe that we all need something in life to believe in, have
faith in and turn to...it's quite obvious to me that the government
would like us to have faith in them, believe in them, as blindly as
we do in the unseen that enfolds us within life(religion), for me,
that's not happening. I became disilussioned with the government at
20 when I became aware of international politics...sort of crushed
me and I turned to a higher unseen power for faith.
We all need something to believe in, to have faith in, to give us
the strength and courage to survive on this plane in life within our
existence. I don't go to church, but I pray, I was a devout
Catholic at one time in my life, but now I just pray...I almost
cling to the knowledge that I have to have faith in something to
keep me going...
I've learned a great deal from men within incarceration and darkness
over the years...many turn to God, not because they want Religion,
but they thirst for faith, just a shred of something in life that
they can still have faith in. Many had faith in friends, loved
ones, family, only to be spurned, scorned and abandoned. But
there's an element in life that we can all have faith and believe
in, if we reach for it. One of my recent federal men who joined my
alliance, he has more than embraced me, he has enfolded me..."Rose,
I've been down six all alone, have six more to go, I need to know
that life is there for me, that it exists, that I can have faith in
it again...I was burned bad, seem more than I should in here, I just
want to know, that I can have faith and trust someone again."
Unfortunately, I hear this far too often, maybe that's why the men
within this alliance we have formed have been so successful in
making their time count for them...we've made a bond with life,to
try to make our atonements to society by finding answers that can
sustain life.
No it isn't about religion or government at all, but anytime the
words a "Higher Power" are used, the one who holds it and the one
who seeks it will always play "King of the Mountain". During the
days of Slavery and the Civil War. The reason why so many slaves
were abused, supressed and their self-dignity and respect violated
by those who sought to control them, was because they never found
out how to break their spirit, their faith in life itself....In fact
many plantation owners felt quite inferior, because of this spirit,
this faith that they had in life...and though they were in awe of
this spirit, they feared it also and sought out ways to destroy it.
No it isn't about Religion, whether you're a Buddhist(sp),Islam,
Christian, Lutheran, Catholic, Southern Baptist,Scientology,Greek
Orthodox, Jewish, and a host of religions who all pray and believe
in the Unseen, not one can or has produced a God that has truly been
seen, it's all about faith and the need to believe in something so
that we can survive.
Survive the heartaches and sorrows along our journey in life,
survive the errors and judgments that are cast upon us,to overcome
our shortcomings and grasp a higher dimension and plane within the
essence of self, our existence.
I haven't seen any of the men within my alliance outside of a photo,
I've visited their families, spoken with them on the phone, but have
never had a physical presence with any of them, yet I have faith and
believe in them as they do me.....
Think about all of the things in life that you can't or haven't seen
that you have faith in for your existence and survival...how it
increases the strength within your spirit and helps you to
survive...the postal service who brings us letters from loved
ones,etc....
Quite frankly, I don't care whether you have religion, or
government, as long as you have spirit and faith in something to
help you survive.....
