I went to the FRS with Pete. We went to separate squadrons, so the next time I saw him was when he was in Fujairah with HC-4. We were all horrified and devastated when we learned about the mishap.
I got the chance to return the FRS as an instructor and got to work with a bunch of Pete's squadron-mates. I can tell you that every time we talked about Pete, people could only say positive things. He was just a good dude, and was well respected by his peers. We haven't forgotten him.
Dennis, I appreciate your kind words about Pete. I also want to thank you for establishing a profile for Pete in the navy.togetherweserved website. (I went there to check it out and inadvertently set into place 2 redundant...and empty... profiles that I do not know how to edit away!)
I think it's good for service personnel to have such a website to provide a way of staying in touch and informed.
