Tomorrow is Veteran's Day and I have been thinking of you, Pete! I have been thinking of how proud you were to serve your country and your absolute determination to do the best, to be the best in whatever you did, and I hope you know how proud we all were and continue to be of you!!! I sure miss you, Pete!

I have been remembering our veterans as well... Pete, of course; but also Chaz and others. I grieve for the fact I could name so many who have given their lives in service, or are risking their lives as I write. Today we are flying the flag Woody gave us a year ago... he brought it from Baghdad where he flew it in Pete's honor at a location I won't disclose here. Vince and I went to the Veterans' Day parade downtown, and I held a sign. One side said THANK YOU VETS. The other side said something else, for I am a mourning parent who believes that peace is also patriotic.
