Cadena ancestors

Doing research on the Cadena family tree. So far my research has provided some interesting things regarding my ancestors. (i.e.} the Cadenas originally came from the Canary Islands and were some of the first settlers to settle San Antonio, Texas. Our original name was Rodrigez and changed to Cadena because of various reasons, "the person was travelling with a Cadena family so he changed his name to theirs, got in trouble with the law in the Canary Islands/Cuba/Mexico/or Texas so he changed his name". The earliest I have is my great/grandfather, Jose Pasqual Cadena (b1827-d1903}, married to Candelaria Zuniga, they had 10 children one of which was my grandfather, Juan Cadena married to Felicita Reyes, they had 11 children one of which was my father Pascual Cadena married to Rosa Valerio who had me, I'm one of 8 children.

Any information anyone might have regarding the Cadenas in Texas or elsewhere will be greatly appreciated.
