Golden Thoughts needed for Copper

You may remember the large mass on Copper's right inner-thigh a few weeks back. Well, it has gotten larger and is starting to interfear with her walking. (she has enough problems with that already).

We met with our Vet today and he again confirmed that it is indeed a fatty tumor. Due to its size, location, and the fact that its giving her problems we've decided to have it removed or at least debulked. We were hesitant to put her through it due to her age (15), but her blood work shows her liver and kidneys are in good shape to go under the anesthesia and heal well afterward.

She is scheduled for January 31st. We hate to see her go through a surgery, but on the other hand she is sweet, alert, and in good shape otherwise, so she deserves the chance to be as comfortable as possible in her old age, we want to give her that. (besides only 2 years with her is not enough.. amazing how attached to this old lady we have become)

Re: Golden Thoughts needed for Copper

My very best wishes for a successful surgery for Copper. I know you did not make this decision lightly. Every day with these seniors is a gift and the time with them is never enough! I will be keeping everything crossed that Copper has an easy time with this surgery and is able to enjoy many, many more days with your wonderful family. Please keep us posted.

Sending Golden thoughts and keeping paws crossed for a speedy recovery for Ms. Copper. We are making similar considerations for Ms. Sandy, but fortunately,at this time, none of her multiple fatty lumps are interfering with her activities. Please keep us updated.
