Sunday Social - Dog Treats

Good Afternoon!

Today's Topic:
What kind/s of dog treats to you use? How often do you give your dog/s treats? Are you picky about the treats your dog gets? Do you use them for training? Where do you get your dog treats? etc.....

Have a Golden Day!

Re: Sunday Social - Dog Treats

I buy Newman's Own Turkey & Sweet Potato. I started buying these when I had Zoe & Barney. I like that they are heart shaped and can be broken in half. They are getting increasingly hard to find though. Petsmart & Petco no longer carry them, I had to order from Amazon. And it looks like this flavor may be discontinued soon...not sure. I haven't had to train a dog since Montana was a youngster Crystal was having digestive issues so I limit the snacks to a few of these a day, or she gets maybe a couple bites of chicken or beef every once in a while.

My boys love their treats and will usually come running if I say the word. They get treats for coming in when I call them in from outside. I have them trained to come when I knock on the back door window. They also get lots of treats at agility class where I feel like the PEZ dispenser of treats. I try to get healthy treats but sometimes they get junk treats too. For a while Costco carried Alligator Treats, made in Louisiana from real alligator meat, and these were especially favored. They were very stinky! I have rarely made homemade treats and they are also very popular. But they are not picky. They love all treats.
