Well, it seems they arent done with me yet!

Friend
I just talked with my social worker (case manager). They agree with me that the rehab center wound care specialist who cut a bunch of dead skin/blisters off the bottom of my feet pretty much turned them into raw meat. Now 6-7 days after the work, I am in a fair amount of pain every day.
I will be going back to full time rehab living tomorrow around noon She says to expect a two week stay. It will be a lot of work, but I will NOT leave until I can walk much better.
So , no Stroll for a while, but I will post updates as available. Your golden wishes, and kind thoughts are most welcome.
Thanks
Bill

Re: Well, it seems they arent done with me yet!

Oh, no, Bill! That wound care "specialist" needs to be retrained! Anyone with an ounce of sense, knows diabetics cannot have open wounds. We have you in our prayers and sending lots of golden thoughts your way. Same rehab location?
Please don't be concerned about the Stroll. YOU are much more important!

Sending you a huge hug from,
Marcy, George

Bill, so sorry to hear this. Hope for all the best and that they can relieve you of the pain you are experiencing. Sending healing golden thoughts your way!

Re: Well, it seems they arent done with me yet!

So sorry to hear about this temporary and painful setback, Bill. You are your best advocate for getting the care you need, so stick to your guns and don't leave rehab until YOU say you are ready to leave. I'll be out of pocket for a week or so (no or limited Internet access), but will check in when I can. In the meantime, I'm sending you best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Re: Well, it seems they arent done with me yet!

Bill, please stay until you are really ready (and your feet are really ready...!) to leave. I remember that you are diabetic, my father was also. Lots of careful care is needed.

Sending you hugs and positive Golden Wishes and prayers from Ohio!

Bill I am so sorry for this setback. I agree withMarcy we may love the stroll but your health is far more important. That doctor needs more than retraining. Many prayers and golden good thoughts are heading your way.

Uncle Bill, we are sorry things aren't moving in the direction you had hoped for. We'll think good thoughts for you, and hope to see you back up and around very soon!

Bill-
I hope that everyone treats you right, and that your feet get better soon.

Get Well Soon! Sorry to hear that you have to deal with this.

Bill's address at rehab

Just a reminder of Bill's address at rehab (and he's in a different room):

Littleton Rehabilitation
5822 South Lowell Way #5
Littleton, CO 80123

Too bad we're not physically closer or Finny could go recoup from tomorrow's surgery in Uncle Bill's place, where no doubt Bill would spoil him rotten. Finn's having two tumors removed, so fingers crossed that neither are cancer!

Re: Bill's address at rehab

Molly, thank you for the updated address for Bill.

Sending Finn lots of golden thoughts and hoping for a negative biopsy. Please give him a hug from me.

This sounds so painful! Ouch, who can walk after that? Heal fast my friend.

Uncle Bill - we're sending you lot's of pawsitive thoughts from Seattle - it reminds us of the speach we hear our dad tell his work crews "there's never time to do it right the first time, but always time to do it again!" - Let's hope those "specialists" get it right this time and you're off to a speedy recovery!!

Oh boy !!! Just back from vaca and jumped on to check and see how you were feeling. I guess this answers the question :(
Hope this time they'll get it right and you'll be on your way to a full recovery. We're all thinking of you Bill
