Re: OT -- sad day

Dear Ann,
I am sorry that today is such a sad day for you and your dad. We're sending lots of good thoughts to you and your family as you face this sad anniversary. I know you both must think of your mom every day. I know I think of mine and how much I miss her.
I hope you remember some of your precious memories and smile a lot throughout the day.

Re: OT -- sad day

Awwwh, Ann, you sure have my thoughts today. So does your Dad. If only we didn't ever have to go through the sad times in life.

Re: OT -- sad day

Ann, golden thoughts for you and your dad on this saddest of anniversaries....

Re: OT -- sad day

That is sad - I worry about my parents and what the surviving one will do when that awful day comes. Please know that I'm thinking of you and your family today.

But on a positive note, 60 years is a wonderful love story and a wonderful example to set for other people!

Re: OT -- sad day

We will be praying for your family. My parents are getting up there too, mom is on oxygen and I'm afraid this is going to be her last holiday season.

Re: OT -- sad day

Best wishes on this day.

Sadly, I see this in my practice all too often, long life marriages where someone passes away.

One of my clients recently lost her husband. They met in Grade one, started dating at 16, married shortly thereafter and have never been apart, a great love story. She's 64 now and every time I call her she tells me she's "very, very lonely" . . . . but she's starting to get out to the kids and grand kids.

Life goes on. Time passes. I hope it does for your father and yourself as well.

Re: Re: OT -- sad day

My thoughts are with you and your dad today.

Re: OT -- sad day

I'm sure that your dad just did not know what to do without your mom after 60 years together. That is such a blessing, to have a long marriage with both spouses living to a good age. I hope that your dad takes comfort in having other family members with him at this time.

Sending our golden thoughts to you and your family.

Regards,

PJ

Re: Re: OT -- sad day

Sending you and your dad a big hug on this sad day. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. My dad died in '93 and there's not a day goes by that I don't think about him.

Re: OT -- sad day --thank you

Thank you, everyone, for your kind thoughts and words of support. I talked to my dad last night, and he was in good spirits. My sister had spent some time with him yesterday (she lives an hour away) and they kept busy doing some financial work (she's a CPA), shopping for his condo, etc., so they didn't dwell on the sadness of the day. They visited the cemetery, and he went back again after my sister left. Last night he went to a condo association meeting. I was pleased with how good he sounded. Thanks again for your support.

Re: OT -- sad day

Ann, I'm sorry to have not responded to this yesterday... but also glad that the day was busy for your dad and he was surrounded by family and friends.

Sending you a hug... I understand.

Ann, anniversaries take a few years to get easier. I'm glad your Dad was in good spirits. How about you?
