Re: Completely OT, but a good idea for those who wish to do it

Never mind, for various reasons (including security), Walter Reed doesn't want folks to send holiday cards. Instead, books of stamps, prepaid phone cards, stationery is the way to go if you're so inclined. Send to:

Walter Reed Army Medical Center

Medical Family Assistance Center

Bldg. 2, 3rd floor, Room 3E01

6900 Georgia Ave, NW

Washington, DC 20307-5001

just a thought

We send packages /cards to a service man and/or woman via www.anysoldier.com.
In fact, I just maiked two boxes an hour ago !
You can go to www.anysoldier.com
click on where to send
You can choose by gender, branch of service, home base, etc. We happen to choose the Air Force because that's Jim was in the Air Force and I choose a female cuz I am one
Last year we communicated with a dog handler and sent toys for the dogs.
** As a reminder, it takes about two weeks for packages/mail to arrive overseas.
Thanks for the idea, Molly

Very good idea Molly.

Thank you.

I was inspired to sign a holiday card for a soldier at school today, and plan to shop for the boxes they will be sending out soon.

This is an ongoing project at our community college, and they now have a volunteer to take donations at the satellite location where I teach.
