There's a lot of controversy surroundin' The Passion of Christ
A new film about the last 12 hours of His life
Many are callin' the film anti-Semitic
And questioning the motives as to why Gibson did it
But the one thing I find so utterly amazin'
Is that none of it is centered around His bein' Caucasian
This continued portrayal of Christ as Caucasian
Reinforces a form of mental enslavement
I'm not sayin' that the film is not a good picture
But the image doesn't jibe with the One in the Scriptures
If you really wanna get an accurate depiction
Daniel of the Bible gives this description:
"He had hair like lamb's wool and feet like burnt brass"
There's no way that the man in this film could pass
And the fact that this image is allowed to remain
Proves that white Christianity still hasn't changed
'Cause if they really wanted to bring the truth of the Scriptures
Denzel would be Christ in the picture

I think that you needed to spend more thought on the message than on the actors. after all it's THE WORD that's really important.

thanx for the coments but i think it might be more appropriate if we as black ppl acquired a greater understanding of the effects of racial images on the black psyche. the depiction of a white jesus is inherently false. all the oldest sculptures and statues depict the shrine of the BLACK madonna. there all over europe. the madonna is MARY, JESUS' MOTHER. IF THE MOTHER IS BLACK THEN WHAT COLOR IS THE CHILD?? OK THEN. NOW, WHEN KING HEROD PUT OUT HIS DECREE TO KILL ALL THE BOY BABIES JOSEPH AND MARY TOOK JESUS AND HID IN EGYPT. THE ORIGINAL NAME FOR EGYPT WAS "KEMET", A WORD THAT TRANSLATED MEANS, "LAND OF THE BLACKS." WHY WOULD, AND HOW WOULD A WHITE JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH HIDE IN BLACK EGYPT? ITS NOT ABOUT THE COLOR, BUT IT IS ABOUT THE TRUTH. PEACE
