In regards to the document "Partial Index to “With the Makers of San Antonio”", three names of "McCorkie" are listed. The correct spelling is McCorkle. "Henry Frank McCorkie" may actualy be Henry Leonard McCorkle MD, who was my husband's uncle, born in San Antonio on 12/8/1926 and died 11/14/1993 in Gettysburg PA, residence in Thurmont MD. My husband's father was Robert George McCorkle MD, born in San Antonio on Sept 18, 1923, died 01/24/1979 in Houston. Their parents were R. G. McCorkle MD and Carrie E Giraud, who are are buried in the San Jose Burial Park on Mission Rd.
We think Carrie descended from Francois P Giraud, early surveyor, alderman and mayor of San Antonio. We are unable to determine which of his 4 sons was her father-- Francois M, Louis T, Leon J or Eugene A Giraud. Or was her father Theodore E Giraud, Francois' brother? Would you have this information?

My name is Mark Quintana from Dallas, TX. Was doing some family research and came upon your question about CARRIE GIRAUD. Was is it answered by now? I crossed upon that name because I was researching my family ancestry from San Antonio. Carrie is the daughter of Frank(Francois)Marie and Jesusa Quintana Giraud. Jesusa is the daughter of my GG Grandfather Rafael Quintana. He also served as Treasurer and City Council for San Antonio right at the end of the civil war. Frank and Jesusa had many children. I found a 9-10 family generation list which is interesting (and confusing) to look at. It lists many McCorkles with dates and names of many in your husbands'family line.
