My family ancestors trace back to 1839 in San Antonio by the surname of Lara. Although not Islanders it does appear that they were some of the earliest settlers in this part of Texas. Maybe part Native Indian I don't know but looking for any other Lara family from Bexar. They eventually traveled to a Pecos Texas were they were in the Teamsters and Farmers. I am traveling through Texas the 3rd week June if anyone could help please me speak with families within this 1839'time frame that are still in San Antonio I would really appreciate it.
