Waterloo Bks

Just been talking to a guy who lives in Muenster that the old Barracks is no more. Only thing left standing is the church (which they could not pull down). Shame really!

Re: Waterloo Bks

lol...so when did you leave the Regiment? I bugged out Jan 93 and joined the TA 101 Regt ending up as a cymberine N01...left TA in 2003. Thus ended my military career! Apart from that I now manage a maintenance dept at an ICI plant. Do you keep in touch with any of the old crowd? Les

Re: Waterloo Bks

Les You must have been in 101 when I was there. I was in KP then moved across to Napier Armoury. Do you remember Geordie Boyd? ex L Bty. He's married a lass from 204 (Joanne ??) got a rug rat now.

Being Radar you must have worked with Billy Perk, Lonna, Doc Holiday,Hughie.

Re: Waterloo Bks 2008

Hello fellas

My brother (Dicko 'L' Bty) and myself went to Munster for a visit 24th January to 28th January 2008 to stand on hallowed ground once again. Just like the image on Google Earth, there is no mistake, Its all gone, definately gone gone gone ! I've got pics of the church (mentioned at the top) and surprisingly enough it is all that is left of any recognition.

Outside of that even 'The Gremmie' has been knocked down FFS! The Landsmann still exists and has the same seats, decor and stench it always had.

When you look at google earth and think theres some mistake - well, there isn't - Thats it. I will get some pictures posted, you will have to use your imgination though. ANYONE GOT ANY POINTERS ON HOW I CAN GET MY NEW PICS POSTED HERE....???

Also I am looking for an old aerial photo of the site any hints there, apart from speaking to Russian intelligence....har har harrrrrrrrr !

Does anyone know if Gobber is still around, or is that you Geordie Douglas ?????????? If so hows Murph ?

Best Regards Men and A Long Happy Life to All of You - Dicko (aka 'Glenn' or to some 'Dixon you f*@kin' c*nt !)

Re: Waterloo Bks

Cheers for sharing the pics Dicko...the place looks as though it has been levelled by a 'fire mission regiment'. I was quite gutted as I expected to see at least some key point I could identify the camp by...even the church looked different. Mind you I never appreciated the place as it was just a timing point on the BFT route or for just church parade urhghhhh!! Does anyone else have any pictures from the camp pref in the 80's?????

Re: Waterloo Bks

When I went out a couple of years ago it was really a bit emotional because I had hid a bottle of Asbach on the block roof and the blck had gone
