Message to all 2RHA/2Fld RA ex members
Hello I was with the Regt from 1957 (Hildesheim) & went with them to Malaya. At the time I was in RHQ troop. I returned in 1960 (demob) but re-enlisted in 1962. I stayed with 17 Trg Regt for 2 years then was posted back to 2Fld in 1965. The Regt was in Munster (Portsmouth Barracks) at the time & I was posted to L (Nery Bty) I stayed with Nery until I left the Army in 1975 (Hemer) as a WO2 & was the Bty CPO. Hi Alan Sorry I haven't answered your post before now but I have been quite busy, never mind better late than never eh!!! When we were in Munster (Portsmouth Barracks) I lived in Hohe Heckenweg. My quarter was in between Ron Curtis & Barry Greenfield & Chas Coombs & Colin (Boggy) Marsh were near neighbours. I fondly remember all of the names you mentioned. I was MT Bdr in Nery at the time & was promoted to MT Sgt at Barnard Castle. Regards Charlie Alexander |
