The Apprentice: UK: Episode 10

Who's Playing Who ?

Task: Communication in times of stress

Current favourites: James and Saira.

Notes:
Lesson 1: Not particular to this episode or series because it has turned out to be a common trait due to the fact that the same occurred on the US based version of the show but more often than not the very things an individual thinks they are good at they are not until clearly proven in times of need.

The example in this case happened to both Paul and Saira separately in the sense that they thought they were natural born sales people and yet they both performed the worst during audition time.

Lesson 2: Understand when there is a time to lead and a time to follow. Tim was quickly sucked in by Paul's direction and never realised it at any point throughout the whole trial. It is also critical to know when to apply assertion and at critical moments during the show Tim let Paul play havoc.

Lesson 3: Another lesson learned here is that passion shines through like a beacon when people are really into what they are doing. James, Saira and Miriam were in the zone and it showed.

Lesson 4: One should never lose sight of the key objective and that's exactly what Tim and Paul did. They became more interested in the sub plot of trying to out fox Saira but lacked the subtlety to pull it off convincingly to the extent they deluded themselves that they got everything Saira wanted when infact she played them by not getting involved and focusing on exactly what she wanted.

Lesson 5: Part of the key to this is planning and research and that's exactly what Saira did and what Paul and Tim didn't do (preferring to play school boy games). They should have stuck to the basics and not tried to get too clever

Lesson 6: There is no justice and don’t expect the next person up to get it right. Sugar got it wrong with the NASA mattresses and also in his choice of who should have got fired.

The Boardroom Showdown.
Tim displayed a lack of substance.
Paul was showing gay abandon thinking that the end was nigh and Miriam put in an emotionless performance.

Back of the pack:
Paul: Sexist, immature, unorganised, no clear strength. Should have got the push this week
Tim: Not enough experience and too naive
Miriam: Although she showed soul during the actual exercise she didn't display this to same level as Tim and Paul in the boardroom. She also perhaps felt that by giving
