Test/Recipe Request

Well Geez! I just figured out that my forum has not been working because of wrong coding. No wonder it's been so quiet these last few months.:O
Well anyway, Welcome aboard and feel free to post away. I'm looking for any bread recipes that you would like to share. Preferably a good sourdough or whole wheat sourdough. Thanks.

Re: Test/Recipe Request

I have made this bread numerous times, and it is so very good! Hope you enjoy! BTW... my sourdough starter is 32 years old.

Sourdough rye bread

1 cup sourdough starter
2 c. rye flour
1 1/2 c. bread flour
1/4 c. water, mixed with 1 pkg yeast
2/3 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tblsp. sugar
1 Tblsp. olive oil
1 Tblsp. caraway seed
dry onion, add to bread and sprinkle on dough before baking
1/2 cup additional water... optional.. use if needed

Mix together the starter, and the water with yeast. Add 2/3 cup water, salt, sugar, oil, caraway seed, and mix in flour. If needed, add extra water.... Knead til soft and then cover with oil, and allow to rise til doubled.

Punch down dough and shape into loaves. Sprinkle onion on dough and placeit on a greased baking sheet. allow to double.
Bake at 350 degres for 40 minutes...
