Subject:   Tax Preparation for J1 students

Message:   I am a coordinator for a cultural exchange program in the USA. I work with about 200 J1 and H2B students. Often when they go home they pay a european tax preparer to do their taxes and more often than not they get ripped off. The fees are not disclosed in the first place or the percentage they are charged is ridiculously high. I want to make a very intimidating process more consistent for them, and make some extra income in the meantime, by preparing their tax returns for a fixed fee, which they pay before they leave.

Does anyone have any experience with non resident tax preparation that would like to share some of the workload and teach me a bit about the preparation itself? Or is there anyone that would be willing to have a discussion about the best way to do this and talk about things like:
-How to prepare the form
-How much to charge
-How to best get the refund back to the student
-etc...
