Message:   Hi!

I got married on 1/6/07.And I would like to ask the possibility of joint filing for the tax year 2007.

I was an F-1 (OPT from Nov)as resident for tax purpose in 2007.
My spouse was also an F-1, but non-resident for tax purpose.

First, can we do joint filing as resident (i.e. filing 1040)?

Second, if possible, are there any additional forms or documents we will need prepare? I have read somewhere that we will need to do some "election". How can I make election for this purpose? What other things should I add?

Thank you so much for your help!!
