I have these three men as being listed on the roster for Co. D, 26th Mississippi, Jeff Davis Sharpshooters (Marion Co.) This roster is as of August 1861 for an enlistment period May 4 through July 30, 1861. Do I have the wrong information?

Carole,

"Jeff Davis Sharpshooters" was the designation of Company D of the 7th Mississippi, not the 26th. I checked the NPS Civil War Soldier & Sailors list and found that all three of these men did serve in Co. D of that unit. If you want to take a look for yourself, go to:
