Where is Miles R. Barnett buried?

I've run upon a mystery.

Miles R. Barnett was a private in Company A. At enlistment he was 26 and lived in or near Iuka, MS. His military records show he died in September 1862 at Springfield, ILL. The mystery is that he has a gravestone in two cemeteries.

The one posted on this site is Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Iuka. This would make sense because he was from Iuka.

But there is another gravestone in Confederate Soldiers Rest in the Historic Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, TN. This would make sense in its proximity to his place of death. The Memphis stone indicates he was buried there October 13, 1862. This would be in line with his ILL death date and allowing time to get his body South. See: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jcothern/ConfederateSoldiersRest.htm

Could he be buried at Memphis and the stone in Iuka is only a memorial marker? Could his body have been reinterred at Iuka?

There are no Miles R. Barnett descendants in the directory. Does anyone else have insight as to where Pvt. Barnett is really buried?
